South East Simon Community has a vision of the South East were everyone can have a home of their own - for life.Our mission is to prevent people from experiencing homelessness in the first instance and help people gain the skills they need to keep their own home in the local community.Our work in Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford is 70% funded by public donations. Thats an amazing €224,000 a year. Thank you. We're always mindful it's your money we're spending and we keep our operational costs as low as possible.
Our team comprises of Teresa and Sinead covering South Tipperary where the County Council pay for an Outreach Tenancy Sustainment Service. The ladies also work with rough sleepers and provide a supported advocacy service from their base in Clonmel.
Chris, Lucy, Lorraine and Annette work out of the Waterford office. Chris does supported advocacy, outreach, re-settlement & tenancy support on an as needed basis, Lucy is our housing officer and manages our 23 homes and Annette fund-raises for us. Lorraine is our acting administrator, pays the bills and makes us neat, tidy and organised! Lorraine, Lucy and Annette, Sinead and Teresa all work part time. we have a fabulous network of volunteers across the region and currently have two CE workers, Alan and Mihail based with us. We have 2 WIT students on placement.
John, Kieron, Margaret and Martina relief manage our shop at 41 Michael Street, Waterford. The Open Door is there to help generate income for services. Our team of managers are assited by 2 CE employees, Maeve and Geraldine and is helped out with a dedicated team of volunteers. Mattie, Declan and Sean prepare and steam all the gorgeous clothes which you donate in our warehousing unit at Johnstown Industrial Estate.Please keep donating your good quality clothing, books, small furniture and bric a brac to help us out.
We work in partnership with our service participants, statutory agencies, community supports and the public who support our work. South Tipperary County Council support our work finacially in that County. Join our community today and make the end of homelessness in the South East possible.
