Fundraising for South East Simon
South East Simon Community relies heavily on fundraising activities to maintain ongoing services and expand our services in the region.Talk to Annette Martin on 086 816 8481 to discuss special events and fund-raising activities which will guarantee you a great night (or day) out and help to generate income for our community. Over 70% of our funding comes from public donations, corporate sponsorship and money generated from events. It will cost €320,000 to run our operation in the South East in 2010. Please let us know your ideas to help us achieve this goal!

- 24th July - Kilkenny - our second parachute jump of the year! Go on - you know you want to
- Keep your eyes peeled for the 'Guess How Many Sliotarsare in the Coupe' going around the 5 Counties, have a guess and you could win €1,000. We're in New Ross on 12th July
- Visit our certified Manchester United ball at Alfie Hale's pub in Ballybricken. This will be auctioned soon and will be advertised on local radio.
- Collection in Supervalue in Tramore on 16th and 17th July.
- City Square in Waterford on 30th July
- Bag packing in Tramore Tesco on 20th and 21st August
- Comedy night on 29th October in the Forum, join us and laugh your socks off

There are many ways you can help including
- Organising your own event! have fun with friends and family organising a sleep over, pizza party, coffee morning or other event.
- Come up with a new and exciting idea to help raise money to fund the vital work we do
- Become a customer of the Open Door by South East Simon shop at 41 Michael Street. Every cent of profit generated by the shop supports our community
- Do something really different! Try a sponsored parachute jump with us. July 24th is d-day, taking off from Kilkenny Airport 5,000 feet of freefall and 5,000 feet with the parachute open. (Tandem)
- Join us on one of our planned events
- Drop of donations of good quality, clothing and household bric-a-brac, shoes, bags, belts, ties and books and pick up a bargain at our clothing store, The Open Door, 41 Michael Street, Waterford.
- Donate non perishable goods to our food distribution centre at Unit 32, Johnstown Industrial Estate, Waterford Urgently required. Please help.
- Volunteer at the shop or in our new development at Unit 32 Johnstown Industrial Estate
- Organise a food drive at home or in your workplace to support our food distribution service please. We are always in need of food for this service
Get your family friends or colleagues to support you or help organise your event. South East Simon Community can provide support and offer materials and resources available to assist you in your fundraising including tee-shirts, buckets etc.

Whether you are staff in a company or a business owner, there’s a wide range of ways to support our work - and this support is vital!
- Corporate Donations - we rely on financial donations to keep our services up and running, your donation will go directly where it is needed most – to help the most vulnerable and socially excluded in the South East.
- In Kind Support - Donate your services to help reduce costs for South East Simon Community, help fund one of our services, donate old office equipment when you are upgrading or contact us for more ways you can help.
- Employee Fundraising - encourage your staff to work together on fundraising projects and give them the opportunity to develop team morale, acquire new skills and enhance your standing in the community. They can either come up with a new and exciting event and organise it within the company or join one of our planned outings throughout the year.
- Cause Related Marketing - associate one of your products with our work. 86% of consumers are more likely to choose the product that is associated with a good cause.
- Nominate - South East Simon Community as your Charity of the Year
- Reclaiming Tax - If you are a PAYE taxpayer and donate €250 or more a year to us, South East Simon may be able to reclaim the tax you have paid on your donation - at no additional cost to you. You can print a revenue form here.

A legacy is a lasting gift that will ensure Simon can continue working toward a society where no one is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.Simon is recognised for providing innovative solutions to ending homelessness and for influencing government policy and public opinion; a legacy gift would ensure that this work can continue.
